Its back gamers, and now going for the record for longest gamer event at UMass Dartmouth. What is it that I am talking about, well its Power Up 24 of course. Gaming Society end of the year VG marathon charity event Power Up, being held back in Cedar Dell South Center! This year, gamers who have the lasting power for all night, all day gaming,  and every other length in between will be treated to a wonderful variety of events, games, and many other things that if I put it all in this article it be enough to start up another website. Wait! That sounds like a good idea, I’ll just make a new website.

…. wait for it….

Ah yes, here we go

And like it was planned for months, a website that contains all the events, rules for donations, fancy advertisements, and all the hardcore achievements one could ask for! The site is still a work in progress, but by the end of the week, everything you want to know will be there!

Got any ideas for our event? Email us at

More information about the event is posted on the website.

Official League rules!
1. Format: Swiss Tournament winners earn 1 point, losers 0 points.
2. Matches are emailed out at midnight on Sunday. Players have 1 week to contact their opponent with the provided email and arrange a match.
3. The winner emails the result of the match to with the subject header “SCII Match Results.” Attached should be a recording of the game in case of dispute
4. Players have 1 week from when the match is announced to report the results of their match, if they haven’t the match will be declared a tie and both players lose.
5. If a player attempts to, but cannot contact their opponent they will be awarded 0.5 points.
6. If all matches are completed before the 1 week time limit the next round begins. If the four scheduled rounds are completed an overtime round begins, if that round is finished before November 28th, another begins, etc, until November 28th. This gives you as many chances to win as possible, so its everyone’s best interest to finish their matches as soon as possible.
7. The top 4 players win a $10 donation credit to PowerUp 24, allowing them to participate in the finals live. However this is a charity event so please donate a toy and help those in need.
8. If you don’t want to participate in the finals live, you can still participate over the internet, however it must be at the appointed time (To be determined). But really where is the fun of winning alone in your room when you can win in front of dozens of people!

Additional rounds may occur depending on how quickly these are completed
Nov 6th – Nov 12th  Round 1
Nov 13th – Nov 19th Round 2
Nov 20th – Nov 27th  Round 3
